What changes for universities?
E-learning destroys physical distances between students and universities, making contents available without spatial and temporal constraints. Universities must therefore be able to
  • create multimedia contents and distribute them at a distance
  • communicate and distribute their educational offer on a national and international level
A new actor: the e-learning publisher
In this context is gaining importance the figure of the e-learning publisher, i.e. the digital publisher of reference for universities.

In fact, the e-learning publisher can rationalise and manage all the e-learning activities:
  • Technology: e-learning platforms, authoring systems, standards...
  • Organisation: resources and processes for the new needs
  • Logistics: multimedia classrooms, PC for all students...
  • Sales: communication and distribution channels in the country
