Opera Multimedia as EuroBankRisk Game's partner
EBRG 2nd EDITION PRESS RELEASE NO.1
The second edition of EBRG - the EUROBANKRISK GAME, has been announced.
It is a web based competition in bank financial management offered by the European Bank Training Network and organised by the Warsaw Institute of Banking, a Polish EBTN member. The Lead Partner is the Agency for Technology Transfer from Luxemburg which sponsors participation of 10 teams from the EU accessing countries, Russia, Ukraine and Turkey. The Lead Sponsor is Moody's KMV and the technology Partner is Opera Multimedia.
EBRG builds on a successful experience of a similar project in Poland and offers a unique training and networking opportunity for international teams of bankers representing their banks and counties from the unifying Europe.
The objective of the EuroBankRisk Game is to improve the participants' knowledge and skills in managing a bank, with a particular focus on risk management. The participants get a solid understanding of the big picture of the bank and of the interrelationships among various business lines and different bank functions; the result being the bottom line of the bank. They test their knowledge and skills in a simulated real life banking environment which allows them to learn from good decisions as well as from mistakes.
Each team represents the management board of a virtual bank. They take two trial decisions and 8 counted onces. They can rely upon a continuous support and feedback from the Chief Mentor of the Game. They communicate over the Internet. Eventually they all meet together for their general assembles which will take place in Warsaw, in June this year. The winner is the team whose share price rises the most at a simulated stock exchange. The team receives the tilte" EUROBANRISK 2004 TEAM WINNER" and the main prize awarded by EBTN. There will be other special prizes for superior performance by other sponsors.
It is expected that there will be between 10 and 20 teams participating. The recruitment is open now. The game will start on March 3 with the first trial decision. Everyone can follow the developments of the competition via the EBTN website: www.ebtn.com
