Opera Multimedia's Banking English for ABN AMRO
ABN Amro, a prominent international banking group, has chosen Opera Multimedia, Italian e-learning content publisher, to supply language training for its employees.
Collaboration with the Italian publisher fits into the e-learning programme started by the Dutch group about a year ago with the aim to ease access to vocational training for all the bank staff, 110.000 employees located in 60 countries, often travelling from one branch to another.
The first step of the programme led to installing an e-learning platform, located in Hong kong and accessible via ASP by all the bank personnel.
The first online language training course started in the German branch of the bank last November.
95% of language training is now delivered to the 700 German employees via web, using Credit Line, the English course realized by Opera Multimedia specifically for the banking and financial world and endorsed by The Chartered Institute of Bankers (CIB) - London.
"When we decided to start a new training programme- says Matthias Abold, Head of Learning & Development ABN Amro for Germany and Eastern Europe - we wanted to find an e-learning content provider who could offer quality courses. Opera Multimedia has been able to meet our requirements with a specific course for banking English, compatible with all technological standards and easy to localize in any language, a fundamental factor considering the intended world development of the programme."
"Aware of the progressive internationalization of banking groups and of their need to communicate in English - states Carlo Cozza, Opera Multimedia's CEO - since the beginning of our activity in the e-learning field we focused on niche courses for the banking and finance world. Our solutions, already used by Italian, Chinese, and Arab banks are now rewarded by an international group such as ABN Amro's choice to use them for their training purposes."
Opera Multimedia, is a multimedia publisher based in Milan.
Established in Italy in 1993, Opera Multimedia was the first Italian publisher to enhance new technologies (CD-ROMs, internet) in the cultural and training field and to operate exclusively in a multimedia format.
Employing the know-how acquired in the use of multimedia technologies for the dissemination and popularisation of knowledge, and backed by its experience in the cultural and training field - its CD-ROMs have become market leaders - Opera Multimedia has, in the following years, focused its activity in the e-learning sector and hence created EuroLearning, www.eurolearning.com, an e-learning provider aimed at vocational training.
EuroLearning provides online training courses offering solutions that are suited both to business and consumer markets. Its catalogue encompasses three main areas: Languages, Information Technology and Business Skills.
Besides its presence in Europe Opera Multimedia has a widespread network of business partners active in Eastern Europe, Middle East, Africa, Asia and South America.
